What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure to reshape or reconstruct the nose. It can be performed for functional or purely aesthetic reasons. It is one of the most common treatments for both men and women. It’s not just a change in your appearance; it’s a step towards better self-esteem and personal well-being.
If you are considering undergoing rhinoplasty, book an appointment now with one of our specialists. They will study your case and propose a personalized solution according to your needs and expectations.

Factors to consider before a rhinoplasty
When planning a rhinoplasty, the customization of the treatment is essential. A specialist should conduct a detailed evaluation to determine the best surgical technique suited to each patient’s specific characteristics. It is crucial to consider the individual’s health conditions, such as a history of coagulation disorders or habits like smoking, which can influence the pre- and post-operative process.
There are important contraindications for rhinoplasty that will be identified during the pre-consultation:
- History of phlebitis or pulmonary embolism.
- Use of hormonal contraceptives (You may be asked to discontinue use one month before the operation).
- It is recommended to stop smoking one month before the operation and for the same amount of time after it.
- Avoid the consumption of aspirin or its derivatives the week before the operation.
At Turó Park Aesthetic, we are committed to your well-being before, during, and after the procedure, ensuring professionalism not only in the treatment but also on the road to recovery.

Rhinoplasty Surgery Step by Step
Before the operation, the specialist will conduct a complete (aesthetic and functional) analysis of your nose. The surgeon will then make a precise diagnosis and likely request additional tests. They will also take photos of your face and profile to create a computer simulation.
Then, they will propose a personalized treatment plan to achieve your goals.
Rhinoplasty is performed by a specialized surgeon and can be done with local or general anesthesia, depending on the case. More complex interventions may require a short hospital stay, but most interventions last between 1 and 3 hours.
The precise protocol will depend on the type of procedure needed, but generally, the surgeon will make an incision in the nostrils and then remove or add cartilage to shape the nose.
Most patients will need to wear a metal or plastic splint after the operation to protect the nose. Swelling and bruising usually appear a few hours after the intervention but disappear within a few days. The patient may also experience a slight loss of smell and taste, but this is temporary.
The results obtained after rhinoplasty appear gradually: the initial result can only be judged after 3 months for the upper part of the nose, 6 months for the middle part, and 12 months for the tip and base of the nose. However, they are long-term, permanent, and definitive.

Very pleased with Dr. Lloyd Nanhekhan and his staff. Highly recommended. I have seen more than 10 specialists in Barcelona but he is the only one I could trust and always will. He focuses on his patients and best practices from the medical perspective not the sales perspective.
